Serve on a Team

Where we share Christ’s peace with others.

Explore and exercise your gifts while meeting the needs of others and making a real difference!

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
— Ephesians 2:8-10 (NIV)

Why do we serve?

Each one of us has unique gifts and passions and a desire to make a difference in the world. By serving on a team, you get to explore and exercise your gifts while meeting the needs of others and making a real difference.

It's also a great environment to meet other people and develop community within and outside of Prince of Peace.

Not sure where to serve?

God gave us specific passions and talents, and He has grown us through specific life experiences. Take the Passions and Experience Survey and think about how you can use yours to serve others.

Your Serving Sweet Spot is the intersection where your unique skills and passions align with the needs of the world.

Identifying this sweet spot can lead to a fulfilling purpose, allowing you to contribute meaningfully to society while engaging in work that resonates with you. By understanding and leveraging your Serving Sweet Spot, you can cultivate a life of service that is both rewarding for you and impactful for those around you. To discover your Serving Sweet Spot, consider the following steps:

  • Assess your skills and passions. What activities bring you joy and satisfaction? What are you naturally good at? Make a list of these attributes.

  • Look around your community and the world at large. What needs are unmet? Observe the challenges faced by others that may require solutions.

  • Find the overlap between your skills and the identified needs. Which of your passions can address these challenges?

  • Start small. Volunteer, engage in local initiatives, or create projects that utilize your skills to serve others. This hands-on experience can provide valuable insights and help refine your focus.

  • Stay open to new opportunities and be willing to adapt your approach. The landscape of needs can change, and so can your skills and interests.
