HOW ARE YOU DOING?

RELATIONAL DISCIPLESHIP FOR THE EVERYDAY PERSON

Step One: Get A Book!

How are you doing? Relational Discipleship for the Everyday Person by Matt Koenig

Are you or your congregation struggling with evangelism or discipleship? Are you looking for the next great program? Maybe discipleship is not about a program, but about how you live your life with others. Maybe discipleship is about the phrase, "How are you doing?" In this book, you will learn about methods Pastor Matt Koenig has learned throughout his ministry and how they may be incorporated into your ministry and your life. The book uses the four Cs as a foundation: Connect, Care, Community, and Christ. Learn how you can be a disciple for Jesus. This book is for you because relational discipleship is for the everyday person, and that person is you.

Matt Koenig has been the Discipleship Pastor at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church for 6+ years. His current ministry focuses on adult discipleship through small groups, missional communities, Bible study, worship, care, and community growth. He served 28 years as a classroom teacher, principal, Director of Christian Education (DCE,) and pastor for eight congregations. He and his wife Dawn have been married for 26+ years and have two daughters, Faith and Hope, and the cutest dog in the world named Teddy.

Step Two: Get Connected!

You can’t practice relational discipleship by yourself. You need to surround yourself with others to grow as you practice the four Cs: Connect, Care, Community, and Christ. We are not alone on this journey called life!

  • Join a Small Group: Gather weekly with a small group of people, where you read and discuss the book together. This is a great opportunity to build connections and friendships with people in a more intimate setting.

  • Participate in the weekly Bible study: Gather with a larger size group of people to discuss the book. This is a great option to bring friends and family not previously connected with church or Bible study to join the conversation.

  • Book and Beer: This is a more condensed version to discuss the book at the local brew pub. Come and enjoy a pint while enjoying great discussion.

Step Three: Worship!

Pastor Matt and Pastor Karl preach through the book throughout August 2023. Stay connected to God throughout the week with this How Are You Doing? devotional, too. Paper booklets are also available at the Connection Center.
